ProPhase presents at the ISCTM 11th Annual Scientific Meeting: validation of the Dynamic Social Cognition Battery (DSCB)
The complexity of the constructs of social cognition makes it difficult to develop adequate assessment tools and results are needed to address the disorder specificity of these impairments. Yet, social cognition has become a target for future pharmacotherapy and has the potential to provide meaningful functional improvements in schizophrenia. We have developed and tested a proprietary battery of video images, which make up the the Dynamic Social Cognition Battery (DSCB). The DSCB is a novel instrument used to assess key social cognition constructs. Our validation data indicated that accuracy rates for two primary components of social cognition (emotion perception and theory of mind) were higher for the DSCB than for the currently used outcome measures FEIT, ER‐40, and MSCEIT.
